How your bookgroup can take part in judging the UK’s biggest children‘s science book prize

The Royal Society – the UK’s national academy of science – is inviting FCBG groups to join its collection of Judging Panels across the UK for its Young People’s Book Prize 2015.

Seventy-five Judging Panels will receive a free set of shortlisted books, so this is a great opportunity to get your hands on six brilliant science books for youngsters.

Here’s what some of last year’s Panels had to say about their experience:

“Being a Judging Panel leader has a great experience for me and was great fun for children who took part. Whenever we had meetings with children it was amazing to see how seriously and proudly they all were involved in all the discussions.”

“Loved the resources and cannot praise the event enough for building confidence and interest in science literature.”

“For libraries struggling on tight budgets we were really grateful to be chosen to participate in this scheme. I had been looking for a way to collaborate with our science department and this provided the perfect opportunity. The books have been very popular here.”
