Children’s Book Award,Books for Younger Readers Round Up
We have successfully wrapped up the second part of the Children’s Book Award blog tour, featuring the three titles from the Books for Younger Readers Category! Three amazing bloggers hosted content from the shortlisted authors and you can check them out via the links below.
First up this week, we had Tom Griffiths host a blog from co-author Gillian Cross about Ollie Spark and the Accidental Adventure. Gillian wrote about collaboration in lockdown with Alan Snow and the fun they had in creating a machine loving boy with a noisy family. Did you know that Gillian was a founding member of a FCBG group? Read her blog to discover which one! Thank you to Tom for hosting!
Heading over to Karen Wall’s blog, we meet Leonora Bolt, another machine loving child, one who loves to invent! Author Lucy Brandt shares her belief in hooking children into science and STEM via funny books. Her full article can be viewed on the Booktrust website and we are so grateful to share part of her original article for the blog tour! We appreciate Karen being able to get involved this year!

Finally, over to Loki who took over from author Louie Stowell to write about himself and why he is so deserving of the Children’s Book Award! Hosted brilliantly by Dean Boddington, we knew this was a brilliant match as both are known for their humour!
Now you have met the Books for Younger Readers, it is time to encourage some voting! Only children can vote and they need to have read all the books in a particular category to do so. The voting link will appear on the FCBG website and voting opens on the 20th of March. Voting will close on the 12th of May!
Books can be bought from Heath’s Books, who are kindly offering a discount on the Top Ten Titles.
