CBA Books for Younger Children Round Up
Welcome to our first round up for this year’s Children’s Book Award! These give us a chance to celebrate the titles in the categories as well as offer a huge thank you to the authors, illustrators, publishers and bloggers for creating and hosting content for us!
We have four books in this category with content hosted across four blogs this week!
We first head over to Rich Simpson’s blog to learn more about The Big Dreaming, written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Daniel Egnéus.

Day two was hosted by Jo Cummins from Library Girl and Book Boy. Jo had a brilliant piece written by author-illustrator Leigh Hodgkinson about The Princess and the (Greedy) Pea.
Kate Heap joined the blog tour for this category, hosting a guest post from Howard Calvert, author of The Fastest Tortoise in Town.
Our last stop for this week was hosted by Nicki Cleveland who shared some lovely videos from Rob Biddulph about his book, Gigantic.
Who Will Win?? FCBG groups are voting within their group and non-members can vote online via the link at https://fcbg.org.uk/cba-2024/. The deadline for voting is Friday 18th May. The category winners and the author of the best children’s book published in 2024 will be announced at a ceremony in Birmingham on 8th June, attended by representatives from all our local groups.
