10 Stories to Make a Difference is a collection of diverse and inclusive stories perfect for sharing at home and in school. These are created by debut and emerging creatives alongside well known names in the industry.

These Teacher Resources for the 10 Stories to Make a Difference collection are created by expert educators to make the most of the rich content offered by these 10 extraordinary children’s books, which all celebrate difference.
10 Stories to Make a Difference is a collection of original illustrated stories published by children’s literature non-profit development agency Pop Up Projects, which has been bringing books, schools and communities together for over 10 years. All the books in thecollection are beautifully illustrated and perfect for children aged 5 and up. They reflect the need for greater inclusivity and diversity in children’s books with the stories including characters of colour as well as LGBTQIA+ and disabled characters.
The resources have been designed to improve the access to, confidence in and enjoyment of reading, creative writing, illustration and visual literacy. They can be used to support the national curriculum, and cover a wide range of subjects including PSHE, Science, History, Art and Design as well as Literacy and English. They also help teachers support pupils’ wellbeing and their learning about topics including disability, activism, multiculturalism, LGBTQIA+ community as well as women in the STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics] industry.
The resources provide creative, fun activities and prompts for EYFS – KS4 teachers creating lesson plans. All the materials can be adapted to suit the needs, interests and abilities of individual classes.
