Books for Older Readers Round Up
It’s been another brilliant phase of the Children’s Book Award blog tour! Our three amazing bloggers hosted guest posts from the creators of our three shortlisted titles!
On the 18 March, Jacqui Sydney hosted Liz Kessler with a blog around her book, Code Name Kingfisher! Liz has previously been on this shortlist so knows how we value her books!
Veronica Price hosted Matt Goodfellow on the 19th, giving him space to speak about The Final Year. This is not the only award this book will find itself nominated for and we are pleased to hear from Matt.
Our final stop on this year’s blog tour was Deadlock by Simon Fox, who was hosted by Tom Griffiths. This was a popular choice with readers!

Who Will Win?? FCBG groups are voting within their group and non-members can vote online via the link at https://fcbg.org.uk/cba-2024/. The deadline for voting is Friday 18th May. The category winners and the author of the best children’s book published in 2024 will be announced at a ceremony in Birmingham on 8th June, attended by representatives from all our local groups.
