National Non-Fiction November Competition- Winners Announcement
National Non-Fiction November Competition
The theme of this year’s National Non-Fiction November certainly highlighted the wealth of creativity and diverse range of interests being pursued by children up and down the country! From hair braiding to fishing, model making to gymnastics, badminton to reading, real tennis to animation, the joy these activities bring made judging the competition a real pleasure- but a very difficult task.
Some schools enjoyed running their own competitions and then submitting the entries of their winners, siblings showcased different skills, bulging envelopes arrived from whole classes and individuals offered their contributions giving the judges a wide range of entries to consider.
The standard was so high! Whether on paper or via video, the presentations shared why the hobby is enjoyable, the equipment (if any) needed and why others might like to give it a go. From the youngest entrants at 5 years old to the eldest at 12, the judges would like to thank each and every child for their entry.
However, tough decisions had to be made and after much deliberation, the winner for each category was chosen.
The winner of the younger category is Rosie age 7 with a lovely leaflet all about horse riding and the winner of the older category is Amelie age 9 for her brilliant video about playing chess.
The FCBG is so grateful to Magic Cat who have supported this year’s competition and have generously provided the prizes.
